Beginning with the freshman class of 2005, all students attending Normandy Senior High School will be required to complete 10 hours of community service, accumulating 40 hours by the completion of their senior year. Transfer students will be required to complete 10 hours of community service learning for every year they attend Normandy Senior High School.
 

  • All Freshmen will be given an introduction to the C.S.L. as a unit in their study skills class, and with the C.S.L. coordinator.

  • The C.S.L. coordinator will develop a list of agencies/organizations needing volunteers.

  • Students will make a selection based upon interest, and obtain a project approval form from the C.S.L. coordinator.

  • Completed student forms must have the C.S.L. coordinator's approval.

  • Students will contact agencies/organizations to volunteer for service.

  • The C.S.L. coordinator will contact the agency for verication of the project and for follow-up review until completion of the project.

  • The designated agency supervisor and the student must complete the evaluation form. This must be completed and returned within two weeks of project completion.

  • Carnegie credits in an elective may be earned.

  • C.S.L. hours will be credited to the student's record.

  • Students may not receive monetary compensation for service/work performed.
